It’s hard to believe that Rosh Hashanah will be here in a little over two weeks! As you might imagine, we are very busy getting things ready to celebrate the new year and our most sacred days. Surveys are being taken and seats are being assigned. Sermons and speeches are being written. The streaming equipment has been set up and checked. Honors are being distributed. Unfortunately, COVID has once again thrown a wrench into our hopes of returning to normal. Out of an abundance of caution, we have canceled our Erev Rosh Hashanah dinner and in-person Break-fast.

We hope you will be comfortable enough to attend services in person but understand that some of you will not be able or willing to do so. All of the services will be live-streamed, allowing those at home to observe but not participate.

High Holiday honors are currently being mailed out. You may receive a postcard with the offer of an Aliyah or reading. Please reply as soon as possible if you are able to accept or not. We have tried our best to include everyone. We especially want to honor our elders, our Board members and Officers, those who contribute untold hours to keep Bnai Israel running smoothly, and those who have financially supported various projects including the recent sanctuary renovation.

Although our goal is to include everyone, there is a limited number of honors. If, for any reason, you feel that you have been overlooked, please contact me, and we will do our best to correct that.

Stay Safe and Shabbat Shalom,

Michelle
