Bnai Israel is Thriving

We are blessed to have such an active and thriving community at Bnai Israel. We started February with Rabbi Waxman and the KavaNotes who brought us Shabbat from Liverpool. The service, as well as the attendance were both outstanding. Our month ended with Sisterhood’s 3rd annual Joy of Art Show which keeps getting better with Alane Savod and her team at the helm.

March brings more programming to Bnai Israel. Look at the calendar on our website and you will see the breadth of activities offered. Do you want to be entertained? Come for First Friday with the KavaNotes.  Don’t miss our High School Shabbat & “Green” Oneg. Join Adult Education for Lunch and Learn, Is God really listening to our Prayers…and does it matter? and/or Mimosas & Midrash. Learner’s Minyan will acquaint you with the Shabbat service.

Our Membership Engagement team is holding a Masquerade Shabbat and Dinner on March15th, feel free to bring your own mask. Men’s Club Shabbat will be held on March 16th and don’t forget that we have an Israeli Dance Club.

March brings us Purim and you can participate! Help bake Hamantaschen even if you have never done it before, call Rena Goldwasser or the office to sign up. Our Purim celebration will be on March 24th starting with a “Boozy” Breakfast and Megillah reading continuing with a Purim Spiel and carnival for the kids combined with the temple kids. We planned this to be intergenerational. Make sure you have your costume ready to wear because the kids will have theirs and if you are on the shy side, adults won’t be in the parade. Please do not forget to buy your Mishloach Manot, HERE is everything you need to know about Purim.

We have been working around the house and getting ready for Spring cleaning. We have scheduled a handyman to replace ceiling tiles and other minor repairs. A deep clean and regular cleaning services have been scheduled. We are also looking at more projects down the pipeline, beginning with an additional family ADA compliant bathroom. The Ritual Committee is looking at the purchase of a new Kosher Torah, Men’s Club wants to replace the Sukkah and the playground needs a slide. We can’t have it all right away but these are some of the projects we hope to be able to accomplish through the next few years.

I hope to see every one of you find something to participate in. No skills necessary if you want to volunteer, just your time and desire to bring a more meaningful experience to your membership at Bnai Israel. Please know that I always have time to talk with you.

Keep in touch.

B'Shalom
